TPPF Building Construction

Get GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech involved in your project from the start, they can help you establish a vibration monitoring plan to keep your project up and running.

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech was retained by Texas Public Policy Foundation under the direction of the American Realty Corporation to establish a vibration monitoring and control program during planned demolition and construction activities. An existing two story building needed to be demolished, with the exception of the northern wall which was shared by the adjacent building. Demolition was to be completed before construction could begin on a new six story building at 9th Street and Congress Avenue. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech reviewed the soil profile for the site, measured the sonic velocity of the wall and determined construction induced ground vibration effects on the soil and structure. In addition, GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech also conducted a pre-construction survey of the adjoining structure. Based on this information, GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech developed vibration criteria for the project. Ground vibration levels were estimated for the construction equipment to be used on site and safe standoff distances were established. Vibration monitors measured and collected data during all construction activities and key personnel were instantly notified when project thresholds were approached.
