San Pedro Creek Project

Protect historic treasures along your construction path, let GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech develop vibration criteria for your project.

The City of San Antonio River Authority (SARA) began construction to widen the San Pedro Creek in Downtown San Antonio, Texas. This widening project is to be a part of the historic San Antonio Riverwalk. Widening the creek required excavation, pile driving and drilling in one of the oldest and historic parts of the city. Before construction began, community meetings were held for local residents and business owners. Inspections were completed along both sides of the creek. These inspections were conducted in apartments, private residences, businesses, museums, historic properties and city utility buildings. At each point during this project, the distance to the vibration source varied from structure to structure. This meant the entire project needed a very precise vibration criterion established. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Engineering professionals established specific criteria for each section and, even in some cases, each property. Re:mote Monitoring stations were set up throughout the project path. If a seismograph reading neared a set limit, the construction crew was notified immediately.
