As part of the Circle Interchange Project, a construction flyover bridge was needed in Chicago, IL from I-90W to 290 W. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech conducted pre-construction inspections of adjacent buildings and an underground CTA tunnel. The existing conditions were documented and photographed. Twenty one Re:mote vibration monitoring units were installed near structures and in the CTA tunnel. During construction, the vibration monitoring units collected and downloaded vibration data to a customized client website. If vibration levels were near or exceeded the predetermined limits, key personnel were automatically notified by email and/or text.
