Speaker Profile: Nick Lewis, PE

Mr. Lewis will be presenting, “The Challenges Encountered in Blasting Optimization in Aggregate Operations” during Re:Con 2025. His presentation will discuss the pros and cons of increasing blast fragmentation in a typical aggregate operation. The process flow, drilling and blasting program and customer demand must have a cooperative approach in order to be optimum. Methods to increase or decrease finer material will be presented.

Mr. Lewis is a licensed Professional Engineer and a licensed blaster in four states. He earned his bachelors of science degree in engineering and MBA from the University of Alabama. Presently Mr. Lewis is the Corporate Manager of Drilling and Blasting with Vulcan Materials Company. He is an active member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers and Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration.
