GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech is excited to announce that Mohammad Sharif, PE, Senior Engineer / Structural Dynamic Analyst, GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech will be a speaker at Re:Con 2025.
Mr. Sharif will be presenting, “Blast-Induced Ground Vibration Effects on Integrity of Mine Infrastructure” during Re:Con 2025. His presentation will review the detonation of explosives near mine infrastructure and how excessive ground vibrations may cause severe damage, production delays, or safety concerns. The level of impact on the integrity of such structures depends on the proximity to blast holes, charge loading, and relative confinement. This presentation will illustrate the mechanism of applied dynamic loads caused by blasting and how the structures will respond to these loads. The development of practical vibration criteria and monitoring solutions will be discussed to prevent damage, production delays, or safety performance issues.
Mr. Sharif received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Louisville, Speed Scientific School. He is a Registered Professional Engineer. Mr. Sharif has worked since 1981 in the application of vibration limits and evaluation using his engineering training and experience to provide safeguards for multiple projects. Sharif is regularly asked to speak at industry conferences on structural response, ground vibration and buried pipeline. He is a member of Chi Epsilon (National Civil Engineering Honor Society), American Society of Civil Engineers, the Institute of Noise Control Engineering and The Association for Preservation Technology International (APT International).
