Clayton Smith

Area Manager

Clayton is currently the Area Manager of the Vibra-Tech Maryland office. He is responsible for all day-to-day operations including client development, field work, pre and post-blast inspections, damage claim investigations, public relations, project bids and cost analysis. Clayton works directly with clients to generate proposals from leads and subsequently manage their projects.

  • B.S. – Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences, University of Michigan, 2013

  • Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) Training 30 CFR Part 46

Professional Experience:

Clayton has worked on mining, construction, and oil and gas projects. He has experience in ground vibration monitoring, the effects of blasting on surrounding communities, public relations, damage claim investigations, and PPV interpretation and mitigation. Clayton began with Vibra-Tech in 2013 after graduating from the University of Michigan. During his career at Vibra-Tech, Clayton has held many positions. Clayton was hired in 2013 as a Field Technician in the Austin, Texas office. He was quickly promoted to Geoscientist in Training and ultimately a Professional Geoscientist in the Austin, Texas office. Clayton was promoted to Area Manager of the Maryland office in 2024.
