Re:mote Monitoring

Be aware without being there. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech’s Remote monitoring solutions help you get the most out of your time in the field without spending most of your time in the field.

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote monitoring technology is the industry’s first fully automated monitoring system with web-based data access. From blasting to noise to water monitoring, Re:mote saves you operational time and resources by getting data to project personnel without requiring them to spend hours in the field. Our Re:mote instrumentation is the first system to operate without an onsite operator. Developed for the mining, quarrying, construction and energy industries, Re:mote began as a blasting seismograph solution and has evolved into multiple monitoring options using various sensors. The versatile service includes blast monitoring, water level depth measurements, piezometers, crack monitors, continuous noise level measurements and more.

Using on-site monitoring, Re:mote automatically converts your site data into valuable engineering information. This information is then stored in our encrypted database, the Vault. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech sets up a customized, password-protected website for each client-so accessing data is as simple as logging on to the Internet. Multiple operations and instruments can be viewed, and sites can be set up for blasting operations and noise as well as environmental monitoring.

When it comes to blasting and environmental issues, Re:mote can help you meet your monitoring needs.

Your Data. Anywhere. Anytime.

Re:mote Vibration Monitoring

Ground vibration comes from many sources in the mining, quarrying, construction and energy development industries – but no matter where it comes from, it can create concerns for equipment, structures, and adjacent neighbors.

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Vibration Monitoring System is a critical tool to help monitor and analyze vibration caused by construction or blasting activities. Our system will address project needs and provide experienced, third-party analysis of the collected data to help understand neighbor concerns. We use state-of-the-art instrumentation above standard blasting seismographs. This advanced technology allows two-way communication between the operator and the seismograph, downloads and instrument programming and diagnosis from anywhere in the world. Our capabilities far exceed others in the field, providing results of unassailable integrity.

Let us show you how the GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Vibration Monitoring System allows you to get data to project personnel without requiring them to spend hours in the field, saving you operational time and resources.

Re:mote Dust Monitoring

Dust is an issue for construction, mining, quarrying and energy development sites where it can create concerns for community and adjacent neighbors.

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Dust Monitoring System uses state-of-the-art technology to record wind speed and wind direction to correlate dust concentration to wind rose data. Our technology allows us to configure our system to measure total suspended particulate, PM10 or PM2.5. This data is collected continuously via our Re:mote monitoring system and posted to a customized client website with an alarm notification system. We have the ability to use our system as a fence line monitor, helping to understand neighbor dust complaints.

Re:mote Geotechnical Monitoring

Construction operations frequently have sensitive thresholds for movement and other geotechnical parameters for protecting structures. Geotechnical structures have tilt, crack meters (static and dynamic), strain gages, inclinometers, extensometers, piezometers, and vibration sensors offer a wide variety of monitoring solutions and can operate continuously as part of the GeoSonic/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Monitoring System

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech has Re:mote Geotechnical Monitoring Technology that uses the highest quality sensors available to match resolution and precision required for each project. All data is continuously collected from our monitoring system and posted to a customized client website with an alarm notification system to help reduce your operational liability.

Let us show you how the GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Geotechnical Monitoring System allows you to get data to project personnel without requiring them to spend hours in the field, saving you operational time and resources.

Tilt Monitoring – Tilt monitoring is primarily used for measuring the vertical and horizontal rotation of structures on project involving deep excavation, heavy demolition or blasting near structures of concern.

Dynamic Crack Monitoring – The crack gauge is a valuable tool for observing the movement of a cosmetic or structural crack during vibration causing events. The GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech crack gauge systems yield both comprehensive dynamic and environmental information on crack displacement. Dynamic data (recorded during a vibratory event) is essential for determining a crack’s activity during excitation. Our crack gauge system shows if there is any correlation between crack movement and other vibration producing activities.

Crack Monitoring – The crack monitors and Re:mote technology allows us to measure changes in crack width due to normal temperature variations and compare it to crack movement due to construction activity or potential settlement. Often these results are used in conjunction with vibration data to address claims due to blasting or construction activity.

Strain Monitoring – If you need to measure the deformation of a particular element or material due to some applied load during construction or blasting, strain gages connected to our Re:mote technology system can provide a solution.

Inclinometers – For measuring lateral movement of engineered structures and slopes, Re:mote in-place inclinometers systems are a useful tool for such monitoring.  Horizontal and vertical inclinometers provide profiles of differential and accumulated displacement during construction and blasting activities.

Extensometers – If ground settlement or heave is of concern, single or multiple point borehole extensometers can be used to measure this movement.  Extensometers can also be used for detecting movement of underground structures such as tunnels and utilities.

Piezometer – Monitoring water elevations in boreholes, lakes and streams is often necessary during construction projects to monitor dewatering efforts or evaluate construction effects.

Re:mote Environmental Monitoring

Mining, quarrying and construction operations often need to monitor multiple environmental conditions. GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech can configure Re:mote Monitoring units that can meet all of your environmental monitoring needs.

The GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Environmental Monitoring System can remotely monitor a variety of environmental conditions such as water levels, flow rates, pH, conductivity, turbidity, precipitation, wind speed and wind direction. And if a senor exists to collect other environmental data, our experts can post your results to a customized client website with an alarm notification system.

Let us show you how the GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Environmental Monitoring System allows you to get data to project personnel without requiring them to spend hours in the field, saving you operational time and resources.

Re:mote Noise Monitoring

Noise is continuous and happens all around us including at construction, mining, quarrying and energy development sites and no matter where it originates, it can create concerns for communities and adjacent neighbors.

GeoSonics/Vibra-Tech Re:mote Noise Monitoring System allows our experts to remotely monitor and record data for community noise studies. Results are collected and posted to a customized client website with an alarm notification system. These results can help address community noise issues, show relative change and establish compliance ordinance criteria for existing or new permitting process procedures.
